Makes 2 pie crusts

2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cups cold (Butter, Margarine, or Crisco)
4 or 5 tablespoons cold water

Combine flour and salt in a large bowl then cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture looks like course crumbs. Once crumbs have formed then stir in enough water with fork until flour is just moistened.

Form dough into a ball and cut in half. Roll one ball into 12 inch circle on a lightly floured surface. Fold in half and then fold in half again. Place dough into pie pan and unfold. Crimp or flute edge and then fill or bake according to pie recipe directions.

For a baked unfilled pie shell -- follow steps above then prick crust about a dozen time with fork before baking. Bake at 475 F for 8 minutes or until light brown.
