Anyone having specific projects of interest please contact us either here on the forum or at on of the monthly meetings. Here are a few ideas to get us started.

Below are some projects that will take minimal time and expense to complete. Getting items like the road names taken care of will save a lot of time having to look it up each time we come across a road name we do not recognize.

SHORT TERM

#1 Old Road Names vs Current Road Names.
Gathering this information will aid in the compilation and research using old histories that only specify the old road name.

#2 Find definite location of the 4 old schoolhouse that are no longer here. Also finding the build date of all of these would be good too. http://www.perryhistory-aoh.com/gallery/education.shtml

#3 Finding the definite locations of ALL of the old churches whether standing, moved or gone.

#4 Video or Tape recorded histories of as many of the community members we can find to document the last 85 - 90 years.

#5 Asking the farmers in the area to provide a photograph or their older barns.

#6 Getting a list of the trustees before 1921

#7 Lists of Fire Department Volunteers and Police




LONG TERM - A few worthwhile ideas.

#1 Gathering Census Information and transcribing it. This will be time consuming and will require the efforts of a few people.

#2 Might be interesting to decipher/transcribe the old notes from trustee meeting years ago too.

#3 Helping community members with their genealogies.
